The Spanish piece of eight was made in the early 1700s at the Lima mint. The silver to make the coin was found in a mountain in Peru, the mountain being called Cerro Rico (“rich hillâ€). The piece holds a beautiful piece of history. The coin is in a 14k yellow gold. The pendant is 18mm around. Originally $1200, but is now on sale for $825.
